Budget allocation by Amathole District Municipality during SODA for Mbhashe

The Executive Mayor, Cllr Anele Ntsangani detailed the priotories for Mbhashe Local Municipality as follows: MIG
  • Upgrading of Sewer System to accommodate future development in Dutywa – R21 297 500.00
  • Completion of Backlog Area Wide Sanitation – Dutywa R 30 000 000.
  • Sundwane Water Scheme including surrounding villages – R 6 000 000.00
  • Mgwali North Water Supply Scheme – R17 000 000.00
  • Mgwali South Water Supply Phase B – R14 500 000.00
  • Dutywa East Water Supply Scheme phase 2 – R 5 000 000.00
  • Ward 31 Supply scheme R13 000 000.00
  • Bende Water Supply scheme R22 920 000.00
  • Shixini Water Supply Scheme R 1 000 000.00
  • Elliotdale Wastewater Treatment Works – R1 500 000.00
  • Upgrading of Water Storage and Reticulation to accommodate future development in Dutywa – R23 794 018.00

In his speech, the Executive Mayor, Cllr Anele Ntsangani welcome the decision by Petroleum Agency SA to explore oil and shale gas deposits within the Amathole jurisdiction.
